As part of ongoing continual improvement, on Wednesday, December 7, ITS updated the Device Registration Portal (DRP) with a new look to meet Yale’s usability and accessibility guidelines. The Yale community can use this tool to register the devices (other than those configured by ITS staff) for use on the Yale Network.

  • Yale ITS will update the Cisco AnyConnect Virtual Private Network (VPN) server beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5.
  • Individuals with older VPN software installed may experience a prompt to upgrade when attempting to connect to VPN. To avoid prompts occurring at an inconvenient time, consider upgrading the VPN software before the maintenance.
  • Although ITS expects no outages, please be aware that logging into Yale’s VPN may take longer than usual.

The Service Now Development and Support team will upgrade the Service Now Platform to the newest version, Tokyo, on Saturday, December 17.

Driven by ongoing global supply chain challenges, which significantly impacted Nextgen’s ability to meet scheduled deployment objectives for the remainder of the 2023 fiscal year, program leadership worked diligently to identify security and network opportunities that would continue to drive enhanced efficiency within our Yale community.

With nearly 75 Yale campus buildings successfully connected to the Next Generation Network, leadership is eager to shift some priority focus to activating long-awaited NGN security features!

Beginning on Thursday, November 3, Yale students, faculty, and staff can receive free audio-visual (A/V) and information technology (IT) support at a newly established Technology Support Service Center at the Yale School of Medicine’s (YSM) Cushing/Whitney Medical Library. Developed over the last six months by the Technology Support Services group, through collaboration with the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library staff, the new Technical Support Center intends to adapt to the Yale Community’s changing A/V and IT needs.
