Wanting to improve the quality of life of families living in poverty, the Child Study Center designed a study to support women from pregnancy through the child’s first birthday called 123-MOMS. This is a virtual study where participants will use an iPad to access customized software created by Health Sciences Information Services at Yale.

On June 17, the ServiceNow Development and Support Team will introduce Knowledge Compare. This new functionality will enhance the Knowledge Approval Process by allowing approvers to easily see the differences between the newer version and previous version of an article. It will be accessed through Agent Workspace and will be available to anyone with access to the Incident Module. Upgrading the Graduate Student Funding (GSF) process is on track to go live in July 2022. This new process will use the Student ERP system (Banner), Workday, and a data mart to improve usability, enhance functionality, and streamline processes for faculty and staff supporting graduate funding. 

User Testing is currently underway, and ITS will provide training for faculty and staff in June. Impacted users will receive further details.

The Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) is a unit established in 2021 within the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) branch of Health Science Information Services. ACE consists of five core staff who support data-driven decision-making at Yale School of Medicine across the administrative, education, research, and clinical missions. ACE develops data capabilities that complement native reporting from Workday and core applications, integrating data to support complex decisions and insights.

The IT Service Management team will be introducing a newly designed Problem Management and Major Incident Processes in the June timeframe.

The newly designed processes will streamline and automate many of the cumbersome manual tasks associated with the Major Incident Process and introduce the benefits of a robust Problem Management Practice. Effective problem management provides the understanding needed to reduce the number of incidents and the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented. Yale Information Technology Services (ITS) has launched a Fit for Purpose Computing initiative focused on a better understanding of end-user computing needs and the purchasing and provisioning processes currently in use across the University.
