A message from Chief Ronnell A. Higgins
To the Yale Community,
I write to let you know of a purse snatching that occurred this evening at approximately 6 PM in front of 200 College Street. A Yale affiliate was walking when an unknown male in his late teens to early twenties, wearing a multi-colored red, blue and yellow jacket, grabbed her purse and fled south on College Street toward George Street. Upon reaching George Street, the male hopped onto a red bicycle and fled west on George Street. No physical injuries were reported. The New Haven Police are investigating. The Yale Police Department has increased patrols in this area.
