To the Yale Community,
I write to let you know of a robbery that occurred this afternoon at approximately 4:45 PM in the vicinity of Division and Prospect Streets. A Yale staff member was walking when she was approached from behind by two unknown males in their late teens to early twenties. They grabbed the victim’s bag from her shoulder and fled into a dark gray SUV, traveling south on Mansfield Street toward downtown. No physical injuries were reported. The New Haven Police are investigating. Yale Police are working closely with New Haven Police to identify the individuals responsible for the robbery.
A vehicle matching the description, further described as a dark gray Acura RDX with tinted windows and New York plates, was observed in the area traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle fled onto I-91 north and was later observed on Route 80 and Quinnipiac Avenue. Local law enforcement jurisdictions were notified.
