Enroll in a Health Savings Account
Eligible Yale faculty and staff members can enroll in Aetna Smart Care High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Once opened, Yale will make a one-time deposit (for new enrollees) and monthly contributions to your HSA account. You will also receive accident protection for you and your covered dependents — at no extra cost.

By taking advantage of Being Well at Yale and other free online programs like Yale Healthcasts and Emmi videos, members can create a more balanced and healthier lifestyle.
Open a Flexible Spending Account
To cover out-of-pocket costs for health or dependent care, you must enroll or re-enroll each year in a health care or dependent care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) during annual benefits enrollment. Contributions are deducted from your paycheck before taxes are calculated.
Make Changes to Your 403b Retirement Savings Anytime
You can review and make changes to your 403b retirement savings portfolio through TIAA’s website at any time — not just during annual enrollment. Schedule a 1:1 consultation or register to attend a workshop through the website.
Get Tuition Costs Reimbursed
Obtain partial reimbursement towards degree and non-degree granting programs meeting specific criteria. You can submit your tuition reimbursement claims for non-Yale courses for processing through Workday.
Save Money and Enjoy Discounts
Benefit eligible faculty and staff can explore a range of services and discount programs through the Yale Advantages program. Yale Advantages benefits follow you into retirement. Enrollment (or cancellation) in MetLife Legal Plan may occur only during your yearly annual benefits enrollment.
