Your Well-Being benefits vs. Behavioral Health insurance

Your Well-Being benefits, provided by Optum and available to all Yale employees and their household members, offer short-term support to get you through a challenging life event or everyday concern. Enrollment in the university medical plan is not required to participate. Behavioral Health benefits are included as part of your medical health care insurance and can be accessed when you or your eligible dependents need coverage for clinical treatment, medical prescriptions, or care for specific diagnoses or for long-term support.

  • Schedule a virtual or in-person session with our dedicated counselors, Dr. Amy Sceery and Rebecca Colasanto. This service is for faculty, staff, postdoctoral associates, postdoctoral fellows, and Local 33 PhD graduate students only. Dependents and household members should contact 866-416-6586.
  • Relieve stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and live more mindfully with a premium subscription to the Calm app, available free to Yale employees. To register and download the app, visit the Calm registration page and enter your company access code “YaleSB”. Already have the app? Follow these steps to update your account:
    • Open the app
    • Go to: Profile > Settings > Link Organization Subscription
    • Enter organization code “Optum EWS”
    • In the group code field, enter your company access code “YaleSB”
  • Engage with a licensed therapist 24/7, via voice, or virtual video message, through Talkspace. Call 866-416-6586 to obtain a one-time authorization code prior to registering.
  • Access resources on how to manage stress, improve relationships, and more.
  • Work with a dedicated virtual behavioral coach who will help you identify your needs and develop healthy habits.
