Fleet Management Sustainability Initiatives
Yale Fleet is one of the 10 charter fleets in the NAFA (National Association of Fleet Administrators) Sustainable Standard Program. The Program is a national accreditation for fleets of all sizes and standards. See the link below for Yale’s first accreditation report. Re-accreditation is in 2017 and we are working to increase our accreditation level.
Yale Fleet Management is working to increase the number of alternative fuel and clean technology vehicles in the fleet. Recently the Yale Shuttle upfitted several buses to run on hybrid technology. An article in which Yale’s Fleet Administrator was quoted can be found by clicking here.
Idling: The State of Connecticut has a regulation limiting idling to 3 minutes. A summary of the regulation can be found by clicking here.
Drivers are encouraged to conserve fuel by limiting idling, using the shortest and best route to their destination, and utilizing defensive driving skills.
