Bike Recycling Program

Yale has partnered with the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op, to recycle abandoned, unwanted, or unused bikes on Yale’s campus and provide them to members of the community. Bikes donated from the Yale community will be inspected and repaired at the Co-op, then given to local organizations and individuals in need.

Recycle Your Bike

Leaving campus and don’t want to worry about packing, shipping, or storing your bike? Donate your bike to a fellow community member who needs it. Choose the option that works best for you:

  • Drop off your bike at the Bradley Street Bike Co-op (138 Bradley Street, New Haven) Tuesday through Thursday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. during open shop hours.
  • Call 860-337-2777 or email john@bsbc.co to schedule an appointment to drop off your bike at the Co-op.

Get Involved

Want to fix your own bike or learn more about bike repair while also helping the community? The Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op offers various options for memberships for access to their garage and shop, and discounts for volunteers who work on the donated bikes. If you don’t have your own bike and/or just want to learn more about bike repair, the Co-op is always looking for volunteer mechanics.
