Student Packages Update

Important Updates

For any student package inquiries please complete the TR&S Package Request form.

For students attending the Yale Summer Session, please read the instructions on how to address regular mail without tracking numbers, and packages with tracking information.

Attention All Yale Students
Yale’s student package receiving centers, located at 250 Church Street and 200 Elm Street will be closed on Wednesday May 25, 2022. Please schedule your deliveries accordingly. All packages received after this date will be returned to sender unless otherwise approved by campus mail management.

Durfee Receiving Center (200 Elm Street, New Haven CT 06511)

Students residing in the following colleges should address their packages until further notice in the following format:

Colleges Receiving Direct Shipment of Packages

Students should address their packages to 344 Winchester Ave. Dock 7/8 New Haven CT 06511-1918.

Please advise 344 Winchester Ave. dock 7/8 is not a pickup location.

Students residing in the following colleges should address their packages until further notice in the following format:

  • Saybrook College – until further notice
    Students residing in Saybrook College, you can pick up your items in the Lyceum Room located at the Saybrook gate on the corner of Elm Street and York Street. Students may contact Mica Luce at 203-432-0532. This will be used as a temporary space until further notice. Please provide your Yale ID. Face masks are mandatory to be worn upon pickup.
  • Jonathan Edwards College – for the rest of the year
    For students residing in Jonathan Edwards, your packages will be available for pickup directly at your residential college. You will go to the receiving office at 68 High Street, just inside the main gate. Deliveries will be made after 12pm. Please provide your Yale ID. Face masks are mandatory to be worn upon pickup.

Graduate Students Living On-Campus*

Your packages will be available for pickup at Student Receiving Center at 250 Church St. Pick up times will be Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., until further notice. Please provide your Yale ID. Face masks are mandatory to be worn upon pickup. 

*Living on-campus means residing/living at a Yale affiliated dormitory or housing.

Graduate Students Living Off-Campus*

You must either send the package to your physical address or to your rented PO Box at USPS (Yale Station) - 206 Elm Street. Packages that arrive addressed to 250 Church St. for graduate students living off-campus will be returned to sender.

*Living off-campus means you have your own apartment, and you are not residing/living at a Yale affiliated dormitory or housing.

Student Packages

Friends nor family members cannot sign for other student’s packages unless approved by a manager.

Please take note that both locations do not accept student packages from Door Dash, Grubhub, Walmart, Uber Eats, Edible Arrangements, Peapod, Amazon Fresh, Shoprite at Home, etc. We do not accept perishable or food items at either package centers.

We only accept packages from: UPS, DHL, USPS, FEDEX, Amazon, and lazership with scannable tracking numbers.

USPS mail (including magazines, bank statements, cards, and letters) is not accepted at the Student Receiving center and will be returned to sender. All regular mail without a tracking number should be sent to your PO Box that you rent at Yale Station USPS. Apply for a PO Box.

Students may not address their Priority/Certified mail to 250 Church Street nor their affiliated college. All Priority/Certified mail for students must be addressed to the student’s PO Box number, otherwise it will be returned to sender.

Please fill out the Missing package webform if you had an item shipped to the Yale Student Receiving Center at 250 Church Street, Lower Level, New Haven, CT and the following applies:

  • You were informed it was delivered to your college but more than 5 days have passed and they do not have the item
  • The item was delivered to the Yale Student Receiving Center and more than 5 days have passed and you have not been notified to collect your item
  • If you have received multiple reminders to pick up a package and you have gone to collect it and the item was not there, please cross reference your order history to see if the item was possibly already picked up (compare the tracking number in your pickup reminder to your email providing a tracking number from the vendor). We have had certain system issues and glitches where an item was not marked as picked up and the student already received the item. If you have a duplicate reminder, please fill out the Missing package webform and add in the additional comments field that it needs to be closed out. We will still need your name, tracking number, email, phone number, etc.)

Please note: The Yale Student Receiving Center and Campus Mail have received items without any name (first and last) and residential college. Since there are no identifiers, we have not been able to locate the students these items belong to. Please review your orders to see how they were addressed. If your item was shipped without this information, please include that in your survey in the additional comments section and describe what the item is/where it was shipped from. All surveys should include a valid tracking number for research.
