West Campus Shuttle

COVID-19 Shuttle Update

Social distancing on Yale shuttles is critical to the health and safety of the Yale community. As a result, based on new social distancing guidelines, shuttle passenger capacity and routes will extremely limited. Shuttles will operate at approximately 25% of normal rider capacity to ensure social distancing. Further, temporary changes to existing shuttle routes may be required.

Commuters may wish to consider other personal transportation options to and from campus, including personal bikes, Y-Bikes, and bike share bikes and we remind commuters that personal vehicles (which can be parked in Yale parking lots for free through June), Uber, and Lyft can also support campus mobility.

Beginning June 1, West Campus will be served by the weekend Purple route following the full loop from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Two buses will run every 30 minutes. This is a first step based on available driver resources. Based on projected ridership from the Institutes, Yale Parking & Transit will assess need as more labs are approved for return. Updates on schedules, including nighttime to-door service, will be posted here.

The Yale University Shuttle is a free service that provides transportation for the Yale community between West Campus and the Central and Medical School campuses. The Green line runs Monday through Friday and travels directly between the West Campus and Science Hill, Lot 22. The Purple line runs 7 days per week and travels directly between the West Campus and the Medical School and to the West Haven and Union Train Stations.

When the shuttle is not running, West Campus occupants can request taxi service by calling West Campus Security at 203-737-3111.
