Yale is deeply committed to its New Haven Community Hiring Initiative and provides internship opportunities for eligible candidates. Once accepted into an internship program, you can expect to gain valuable real-world work experience at a world-class higher education institution. Available to New Haven, West Haven, and Orange high school students, the internship offers an introduction to the world of work, an opportunity to observe alongside a Yale professional and build communication and time management skills. Program length: 4-6 weeks.
Applications Accepted: beginning in March
|Early career engagement through mentoring, job shadowing, and real-work experiences, fosters future talent and supports the well-being of the local community.|
Available to rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniors during the summer months, this program offers students the opportunity to experiment and pursue careers that match their academic and personal interest. Program length: 8-12 weeks in the summer ranging from 20 hours to 37.5 hours per week.
Applications Accepted: January 1 – February 28

|Early Career Development||
This program is open to recent and post-graduate students seeking further experience in their field of interest. This internship provides training, mentoring, and practical experiences to help young professionals get started in their careers at Yale. Interns enjoy networking opportunities, job rotation, and hands-on professional experience. Program length: 18 months at six-month intervals.
Applications Accepted: December 15 – February 28
|Research, scholarship, education, preservation and practice opportunities develop leadership and technical skills for program participants. Interns further expand their knowledge, skills and experiences through each rotating experience.|
