Representative duties:

  • Coordinates the work in a unit. Serves as a principle source of information to client who have business with or interest in the units. Serves as a principle source of information on specialized reproduction techniques and equipment problems. May perform a range of reproduction functions
  • Oversees, instructs and coordinates production activities of other support staff
  • Demonstrates reproduction processes to other staff and visitors
  • Explains and describes use of specialized computerized digital conversion systems, scanners, imaging and camera equipment
  • Operates computerized microfilm digital conversion systems, scanners, imaging, and camera equipment

Required knowledge:

  • Specialized college-level coursework or Associate’s degree; detailed but narrow knowledge in one or several work-related areas; substantial knowledge of broader field of learning
  • Extensive knowledge of a craft or trade
  • Limited acquaintance with business, accounting, or commercial procedures
  • Limited knowledge of University organizational policies and procedures generally; detailed knowledge of a narrow area of University academic, administrative or financial rules and procedures

Required skills:

  • Extracts and compiles a range of data from written sources, from individuals by asking questions, or from one or several given databases, coding based on prescribed simple standards

  • Classifies material for filing; uses straightforward or complex filing systems

Experience, education, and formal training:

  • Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education

Example 1

General Purpose:

Reporting, to the Manager of Customer Services & Marketing, serves as the principal source of information to faculty, staff and students about technology products. Serve as primary customer interface for site licensed statistical programs.

Essential duties:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and technical requirements of computers, digital input devices, telephony, printers, video and teleconferencing equipment and software
  • Create and implement new procedures to enhance production, efficiency and customer service within the work unit
  • Act as liaison between vendors and the showroom to assist in demo days and seminars
  • Assist, faculty, staff and students access their technology needs and make recommendations.
  • Oversee and coordinate (or perform) data entry into a database to track participants of the site licensed programs
  • Order site licensed materials (licenses & media) for campus-wide distribution based upon customer orders and in keeping with vendor restraints
  • Coordinate the distribution of site licensed software and collect renewal payments and follow up on outstanding orders
  • Maintain inventory levels of media to ensure adequate materials are on hand for distribution
  • Interface with customers and manufacturers to obtain technical Assemble attractive point-of-sales displays for all MCSC locations
  • Assist in the preparation of marketing and promotional material
  • Maintain online lists of demonstration equipment
  • Greet visitors. Answer and screen telephone calls. Respond to requests for information and provides assistance

Education and Experience:

  • Six years related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high-school education or four years related work experience and an Associate degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
