Get Involved

Getting involved is a great way to connect with others and build your Yale network. Check out the many ways to get involved in the Yale community: join an affinity group, participate in your department’s green team, or support United Way, to name just a few.

Stay in Touch

Ycards.

As a staff member at Yale, you are invited to network with your colleagues and stay in touch with campus news and events.

Yale Affinity Groups

Since 2005 Yale has invested in the development of affinity groups or employee resource groups. Each of the eight groups support recruitment, retention, education, advocacy, and community building.

United Way

Participating in Yale’s annual United Way campaign is a powerful way for the Yale community to come together and show that we are committed to improving the quality of life and economic opportunities for all the people who live and work in Greater New Haven. Sustainability

Help advance a culture of sustainability on campus and around the world. Join one of our online communities or green certify your event or workplace. As a new employee, make sure to check out our Guide to Going Green. Learn more.

Citizen Science

The goal of citizen science at Yale is to train students, faculty and staff to survey and record biodiversity on campus. Participants gain bird and plant identification skills and develop a better understanding of urban ecology in ‘ordinary’ spaces while assisting scientists in gathering large, continuous datasets. Volunteer Opportunities

Around campus and in New Haven, there are literally thousands of opportunities to get involved and make a difference. Whether you have one hour or a whole day, opportunities for volunteering abound. Mentoring or tutoring a young person or donating your time or skills to a local charity are just a few ideas for ways that you can give back to the community.
