Training is provided in a variety of ways; classroom instruction, online services including Lynda.com, and one-on-one personalized support. My Time (Kronos) is Yale’s online timekeeping system for staff members to keep track of their hours worked and paid time off balances. Training materials, quick guides and frequently asked questions are available to help you get started using the My Time (Kronos) application.
Purchasing Cardholders and their assistants are required to participate in training to ensure a clear understanding of their responsibilities as cardholders and users of the University Purchasing Card and the Expense Management System (EMS). Yale travel arrangers can learn how to use the Egencia travel booking tool for business-related travel.
Online resources are available to assist users in managing human resources and payroll processes via the Workday system—Yale’s system of record. Staff and faculty can use Workday to view and modify their benefits; to edit their profile information (including changes in their dependents, address, emergency contact, and marital status); to alter their tax withholdings; to set up or revise direct deposit; and to view their pay slips and print W-2 forms. For managers, initiating job posting and hirings or making changes in their staff’s job descriptions and compensation will be easier through Workday. Academic departments can use the system to support faculty and post-doc appointment and promotions processing.
