Financial training

Financial training opportunities are numerous and guided by the requirements of your position as directed by your business office.

My Time (Kronos)

My Time (Kronos) is Yale’s online timekeeping system for staff members to keep track of their hours worked and paid time off balances. Training materials, quick guides and frequently asked questions are available to help you get started using the My Time (Kronos) application.

Training Management System

Yale’s Training Management System (TMS) manages information related to required training and forms for university faculty and staff. TMS helps educate the Yale community about required training and forms, facilitates online training registration, and ensures training completion.

Travel & expense training

Purchasing Cardholders and their assistants are required to participate in training to ensure a clear understanding of their responsibilities as cardholders and users of the University Purchasing Card and the Expense Management System (EMS). Yale travel arrangers can learn how to use the Egencia travel booking tool for business-related travel.

Workday training materials

Online resources are available to assist users in managing human resources, academics, payroll, and financials through Workday—Yale’s human capital management (HCM) and financial management system.
Staff and faculty can use Workday to view and modify their benefits; edit personal information (including changes in their dependents, address, emergency contact, and marital status); alter tax withholdings; set up or revise direct deposit; and view pay slips or print W-2 forms. Managers can initiate job posting’s and hiring’s, among other tasks. Academic departments can use the system to support faculty and post-doc appointment and promotions processing. Finally, designated users can make purchases through SciQuest, run financial reports, process expense reports, track effort certification and process grants, and submit expenses on-the-go using the Workday mobile application.
Visit Yale’s Training Management System to review current Workday training courses.
