COVID Alert CT App
All members of the Yale community with a mobile phone are encouraged to enroll in Connecticut’s COVID-19 Exposure Notification Application, COVID Alert CT.
How it Works
This app is being rolled out state-wide and will alert you if you’ve been in close contact with someone else running the application who has confirmed a positive diagnosis for COVID-19. Yale is collaborating with local and state leaders to encourage all citizens to enroll. With broad adoption, it is more likely that you would be notified of a potential exposure and guided toward medical support before you are symptomatic, in an effort to curb community transmission. Review What You Should Know About COVID Alert CT for more information.
While the COVID Alert CT app does not replace Yale’s contact tracing efforts, it does offer another way for our community to remain vigilant.
Actions to Take if You Receive an Alert
If you are notified that you've been in close contact with someone who has confirmed a positive diagnosis for COVID-19, please do the following:
- Review information on Yale’s Screening Program and schedule a test.
- Consult What to Do if You Become Ill.
- For additional support, contact the Campus COVID Resource Line and review Workplace Guidance FAQs and Accommodations for Staff Returning to Work.
According to the COVID Alert CT website, "The notification alerting you to potential exposure will also include the phone number for state contact tracers - you should call that number for additional guidance and to be connected to any support resources you may need."
