Extended COVID-19 Childcare Support

August 25, 2021

To: Yale staff

Dear Colleagues,

We write to announce that we will be extending and expanding the pandemic-time Crisis Care Assist program and the regular back-up program to support those who may face child or eldercare challenges due to COVID-19. The extended program, which was previously scheduled to conclude on September 3, provides an additional 10 days of back-up care that can be used through December 31, 2021.

Eligible faculty, staff, post-doctoral associates, post-doctoral fellows, and students at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences are invited to use this benefit, which provides reimbursement for care provided by those in their personal networks and caregivers provided by Bright Horizons Company. For more information, visit the Returning to Yale WorkLife resources web page or email employee.services@yale.edu.

Balancing childcare and eldercare responsibilities can be challenging, however it is our hope that the extension of this program will help to support the members of the Yale community.

Thank you for your continued service to Yale and best wishes to you and your families.

With gratitude,

Scott Strobel,Provost
