Paid time off (PTO) is designed to provide staff time away from work to attend to personal responsibilities and balance the demands of both their professional and personal lives. Staff are encouraged to provide advance notice and coordinate schedules with their managers for planned days off.

All staff receive nine holidays each year – New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; and six recess days – the day after Thanksgiving, the last workday preceding Christmas, and the four workdays between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Vacation

Eligible employees receive 2 days per month, 22 days per year. Maximum vacation carryover is 44 days for less than 10 years of service and 64 days for 10 or more years of service.

Bonus Vacation

Eligible employees with 15 or more years of service receive bonus vacation time which can be used or paid out after 6 months of employment.

Personal Time

YPBA staff are receive four personal days per fiscal year. Personal time can be used after 90 days of employment.

Sick Time

YPBA staff receive one day per month for the first year of hire and 12 days per fiscal year, each subsequent year of employment. Sick days can be used after 90 days of employment.

Maximum Sick pay carryover is 240 days.
