The New Haven Hiring Initiative continued its Employment Readiness Series throughout April with two impactful sessions that highlighted career pathways in healthcare, construction, and manufacturing.

Session XII featured representatives from Yale School of Medicine, where Antoinette Perry and Olivia Best provided valuable insight into opportunities within the Yale Medicine CARE Center and Clinical Administrative Support roles. Attendees were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions about clinical receptionist positions and gaining a clearer understanding of the qualifications, responsibilities, and pathways into these roles at Yale University.

Session XIII welcomed Vernita Tertullien from BigHire Workforce Hub, who delivered an informative overview of career readiness in the construction and manufacturing industries. Her presentation emphasized practical strategies for career entry, retention, and long-term growth, while encouraging participants to leverage both technical and soft skills to succeed.

As the series approaches its conclusion, April’s sessions reinforced healthcare, construction, and manufacturing as viable and accessible career pathways. Participants left feeling informed, motivated, and inspired to pursue opportunities with confidence.
