While Talent Acquisition (TA) focuses on recruiting for regular, staff positions, we can still be a resource when you have a C&T temporary need. We facilitate the placement of a few talent pools that may provide qualified candidates for temporary C&T opportunities, and we’re happy to make a referral. If we don’t have a candidate available through our talent pools, the hiring department will lead the sourcing and selection process using the approach that works best for the need, including partnering with a staffing agency.

How to Hire a Temporary Worker

To start the process of hiring a temporary employee:

For more information about hiring employees for temporary work, please start by identifying which job category the temporary request falls under. For guidance, please view the Temporary Employee Hiring Process for C&T, M&P, and S&M.

Updates and Notifications

Please note that updates about your temporary job requisition and candidate are sent throughout the process via Workday notifications (bell icon to the right of the Workday screen). All forms and questionnaires will be sent to your Workday tasks for you to complete and submit.

It is important to note that the hiring manager is the individual who will receive all Workday tasks, notifications, forms, and questionnaires throughout the temporary hiring process. Sometimes, business office managers, administrative supervisors or operations managers create a seat in their supervisory org in order to assume the role of “hiring manager” to navigate through the temporary hiring process. After hire, that individual may keep the temporary worker in their org or transfer to the actual hiring manager.
