Business Operations Governance Structure

The Operations Strategy group, the Operations Council, and the Operations Working Group constitute the new operations governance structure at Yale. As part of this change the Business Operations Leadership Team (BOLT) and the Operating Group (OG) have been sunset.

The Operations Strategy group consists of senior operations leadership and serves as the decision-making body governing major operations projects, meeting bi-weekly. The Operations Council, comprised of members representing all units, meets approximately three times per semester and provides a forum to discuss and prioritize major projects.

The Operations Working Group meets bi-weekly and serves the following purposes:

  • Advises the Operations Council and Operations Strategy group, in particular to convey field priorities
  • Advises the Policy Review Committee
  • Governs communications flows to/from the Business Operations Community
  • Governs projects related to policy, procedures, and programs not defined as “major projects”
