Celebrate National Arbor Day with all things “trees”

Yale Staff Service Recognition tree-planting program keeps on growing

Over the past five years, 239 staff members with Yale service milestones of ten years or greater, have elected to have a tree planted on campus in their honor. Today we honor their contribution (list of honorees) to the environment and beautification of the university’s landscape.

Bummer! Arbor Day Nature Walk cancelled due to inclement weather

If you signed up to attend our annual nature walk to celebrate National Arbor Day on Friday, April 26, we regret that we are cancelling this year’s event due to inclement weather. We were looking forward to seeing you and checking out the trees that we have planted and have been lovingly cared for by our Facilities staff members since that time. Don’t let that stop you though from visiting on your own on a day when the sun is shining.

Help wanted: Plant trees for honorees on Yale Alumni Day of Service

Volunteering to plant trees on campus alongside Yale alumni not only honors Yale staff members, it also helps to contribute to the goal to plant 10,000 trees in the City of New Haven. Sign up today.

Are you a New Haven resident? You can request a free tree planting.

Yale School of Forestry’s Urban Resource Initiative will plant the tree for you with the help of their GreenSkills crews. Your only obligation is to regularly water the tree.
