The Future of Work
On December 3, Jack Callahan Jr., senior vice president for Operations, and John Whelan, vice president for Human Resources, sent this message to the Yale community about the future of work at the university.

Healthy Yale
A message on December 17, 2021 from Yale’s COVID-19 Coordinator, Stephanie Spangler, addressed this—“New booster requirement, additional COVID-19 updates”—and more: Read Healthy Yale message.

Crisis Care Assist benefit
Please note that effective December 31, 2021, the Crisis Care reimbursement program provided through Bright Horizons® is ending. Crisis Care reimburses faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows, and postdoctoral associates for child and eldercare provided by those in their personal networks. Read December 16 message.

Paid parental leave for M&Ps is extended
Paid parental leave for M&Ps will be extended to eight weeks effective January 1, 2022. This provides an additional four weeks of eligible paid benefit for the birth or adoption of a child. Additionally, beginning in January, M&P staff members who need to take a short-term disability leave will no longer be required to spend down sick time before using short term disability. Only the five-day waiting period will remain in effect. Message to M&Ps.

COVID safety guidance for people traveling during holidays
Yale Environmental Health and Safety has put together information on safe travel practices as we all head into the holiday and recess.

The Connecticut Paid Family and Medical leave program will launch on 1/1/2022 and the state has opened the application process, starting 12/1/2021. Part of the process includes an Employer Verification form (that is branded with an Aflac logo). If you receive one of these forms for CT Paid Family and Medical leave, please forward it to the Absence Management team, in Human Resources, at:  hr.leaves@yale.eduPlease do not complete this form on behalf of the Employer.
