Yale Security Office Gloria Colon Lauded for great service

A Yale alum recently wrote a letter about Gloria Colon’s outstanding service.  Here she is after receiving her #outofthebluethanks recognition award.

A smiling Gloria Colon greeted me as I walked into the foyer of the Yale Art and Architecture building.  To her surprise, I was there to present her with our latest #outofthebluethanks recognition award.  She had recently helped a visiting Yale alum who wrote a lovely letter to her manager touting Gloria’s “warm smile and greeting” and how “extremely helpful” she was to them.  The alum was at Yale for a reunion and was with two individuals who were wheelchair bound, and Gloria was very attentive in assisting them.  This mini-ceremony ended with a misty-eyed Gloria giving me a hug.  After a quick photo, which was posted here and to the Yale Security Facebook page, it was back to work for both of us.  Congratulations Gloria, keep up the wonderful work you do!  Giving you that award made my day too!
