Community outreach - Easter packages for local children and families

May 4, 2021

Much joy was spread throughout New Haven last month. The Yale Police Department’s Community Outreach Officer Martha Cendeno-Ross partnered with the Women of the Village food pantry on two events. These included deliveries of Easter packages and dinners to local children and families.

About 25 Easter egg hunt packages were delivered to Kindergarteners at Augusta Lewis Troup School. The goody bags included snacks and eggs for an at-home Easter egg hunt.

On Saturday, April 3, pre-packaged Easter dinners were delivered to 60 families. The dinners included cooked, roasted chickens, several sides, and a dessert.

Big thanks to volunteers from the Yale Police Department and Women of the Village for their help acquiring, packing, and delivering all these goodies and dinners.
