Yale Security - Community feedback encouraged during assessment project

December 8, 2021

Dear Yale students, staff, and faculty,

On Monday, December 13, 2021, a team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will virtually exam all aspects of the Yale University Security Department. This assessment is part of the accreditation process that includes policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services for accreditation.

Security employees and community members are encouraged to take part in this process. Those wishing to participate will have two opportunities to offer comments about the Yale University Security Department’s ability to meet the standards for accreditation.

We invite you to participate; assessors will be accepting comments on Monday, December 13:

Assessors recommend feedback be limited to five minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards.

Those wishing to offer written comments about the Yale University Security Department’s ability to meet the standards for accreditation are requested to write to Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155.

The goal of accreditation is to have the Yale University Security Department’s policies comply with CALEA standards for accreditation.
