Public Safety Personnel Explains Hiring Process for Security Officers

Reginald Chavis, Jr., Public Safety Security Operations Training Manager conducted a Security Operations training for the New Haven Hiring Initiative Employment Readiness Program at the Dixwell Q. House on March 13.

Chavis discussed the mission of Public Safety, organizational roles and responsibilities, security operations, training, and how to join the Security Operations team.

He answered questions from the audience which included the hiring process and what to expect during the twelve-week training.

“Reginald’s candor and thorough explanation of Security Operations provided for a great event,” said Fallon Thomas, Community Liaison New Haven Hiring Initiative. “His ability to give real-life examples to support the potential doubts in the audience around capabilities reassured the audience that they should not be intimidated by the process.”
