A Busy Summer for the New Haven Hiring Initiative: Summer 2023 Recap

    The New Haven Hiring Initiative (NHHI) had a productive and impactful summer! The Community Liaison engaged in various community events displaying a strong commitment to engage and support the New Haven community.

    This summer, the NHHI’s community footprint highlights multigenerational events that brought diverse people together around job opportunities, health awareness, economic empowerment, and family fun. By collaborating with several community partners, the NHHI addressed employment opportunities and the importance of health and education.

    The distribution of over 2000 pieces of NHHI/Yale affinity group swag and school supplies signifies an effort to build a strong connection between the community and the initiative. This kind of engagement supports a sense of belonging.

    The collaborative efforts with Yale University’s Affinity groups, community partners like the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, and Elm City Communities/Housing Authority of New Haven further emphasize a commitment to collective community empowerment.

    Current Yale employees engaged with the NHHI via multiple events, learning about the benefits of the Employee Referral Program and how to become involved in Yale’s affinity groups.

    Overall, the NHHI’s commitment to build a community-to-jobs pipeline and its active participation in various events highlight its dedication to providing information about job opportunities and nurture a collaborative and empowering community environment.
