NHHI Dixwell Q House Employment Readiness Session Recap

On Monday, September 18th, 2023, the NHHI launched its second employment readiness series in collaboration with the Dixwell Q House. The first session was a partnership with the Jamaican American Connection (JAC), supporting the mission to create a community-to-career pipeline. JAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Jamaican/Caribbean-American families and individuals living in the Greater New Haven area. They are committed to providing a platform where our community members can come together to share resources, experiences, and discuss topics relevant to the Caribbean diaspora.

The session included a presentation around the upcoming sessions that will provide a diverse perspective on workforce development, employment presentations, and workforce wrap-around resources. The NHHI Community Liaison provided an overview of Yale University’s hiring process that highlighted the 500-plus employment opportunities currently available. The sessions will continue the first and third Mondays of the month through May. During the session, attendees networked with NHHI staff around their career interests.

Join us for our next session Monday, October 16th, 2023, 6 PM in collaboration with Workforce Alliance.

Workforce Alliance in collaboration with the NHHI will cover topics such as employment opportunities, workforce development programs, and training assistance. Workforce Alliance provides services for those who have been involved with the criminal justice system re-entering the workforce, career exploration and training, and healthcare advancement programs.
