ID Center Runs Efficiently to Accommodate Incoming Students
November 2, 2023
Like most offices on campus, the ID Center prepares for incoming students before the current academic school year ends.
Starting in March, the process for preparing ID cards in advance of the students’ arrival includes removing previous semesters’ data from the upload web system and sending emails to newly accepted undergraduate and graduate students with instructions on how to upload a photo for their ID cards.
Registrars and operations managers work closely with the ID Center staff to ensure that as many students as possible have their ID cards ready before orientation. The streamlined approach avoids long lines to the ID center and immediate access to campus buildings and resources.
“For the past three years, more than 90% of staff avoid long lines at the ID center because of the efficient upload process by the ID Center team,” said Stephen Donnelly, Manager, ID and Access Control.
Students who didn’t upload their images before the start of school are sent to the ID center by their program or school when they arrive on campus.
