Winter Recap

The New Haven Hiring Initiative finished the year off strong! In November and December, we engaged with community partners such as New Haven Public Schools College & Career Pathways, LEAP, and Project MORE. Through our partnerships, we met hundreds of community members, presented ways to engage with the New Haven Hiring Initiative, and promoted Yale University employment opportunities.

The NHHI also concluded the last two Employment Readiness sessions of 2023, featuring an overview of Yale’s Early Careers opportunities presented by Alina Ozimek. Alina shared information about IT opportunities for high school students and recent college graduates and Finance opportunities for recent college graduates and those looking to pivot careers. Our final session hosted by Kristen McDowell, Case Manager for Marrakech Inc.’s Academy for Human Service Training, provided vital information concerning the resources provided in the program and how to qualify for enrollment.

The NHHI’s engagement closing out the year provided encouragement and inspiration for a fresh start in the New Year!
