Human Resources has announced three upcoming career development workshops this spring to help enhance your career readiness skills. Whether you want to grow towards a new position or revisit some vital career development skills, the following opportunities can help you towards your journey. These workshops are open to all Yale employees. Registration is required.

Resume Writing & Cover Letter Best Practices (virtual)

Tuesday, March 12, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.

Does your resume need a refresh, but you need help getting started? Are you contemplating applying for a role you saw in STARS but need a cover letter ready to go? Now is the time! Please join us for this interactive workshop to guide you through the best tips and practices for getting your resume and cover letter ready for the next step in your career journey. Participants are recommended to have a copy of their resume to be used for their own purposes during the session.

Interviewing 101 (virtual)

Thursday, March 28, from 9 – 10:30 a.m.

Does the thought of interviewing frighten you? Maybe it’s been a while since your last interview, or maybe you’re never sure what to say; this class is designed to prepare you for your next interview. This interactive class will provide guidance on interview etiquette, some of the common interview questions, and how to answer behavioral interview questions effectively using the STAR method (situation, task, action, and result). Best practices for interviewing for roles as you grow your career at Yale will also be covered. Participants are asked to bring a copy of their resume to be used for their own purposes in class.

Navigating your Career at Yale (virtual)

Thursday, April 4, from 9 - 10:00 a.m.

This workshop is designed to guide and assist internal candidates when searching for a new opportunity at Yale and will cover an overview of the hiring process for internals and layoffs; the role of the Talent Acquisition Partner, candidate, and hiring manager in the recruiting process; STARS; and the assistance Talent Acquisition can provide in your career search.
