In this role, Lauren leads Finance Operations and is the strategic advisor to the vice president for Finance and chief financial officer. Finance Operations provides expert information, training, and support to central finance and the financial community at Yale. To accomplish this, Lauren manages and sets the strategic direction for the day-to-day operational and administrative support for the central finance staff, the Finance Training and Development team, and the Finance Support Center (FSC). As a strategic advisor, Lauren provides counsel and support and leads initiatives on behalf of the vice president for finance.
Lauren joined the university in 2009. She spent the first six years in Employee Relations, supporting and leading teams in the School of Medicine and Operations. She then moved to Finance and was the director of finance and administration and interim leader of shared services before taking on her current role. Prior to Yale, Lauren held several management positions in human resources, including director of Human Resources at UBS Investment Bank and director of Employee Relations at Information Resources, Inc. Lauren started her career at Arthur Andersen LLP, where she worked as an auditor and a manager in financial operations. She holds a B.S. in Accounting and Certification in Human Resources Management from Fairfield University and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
