Ruth joined Yale in September 2022 as executive director of internal audit, reporting to Steve Murphy after serving as the chief audit executive for Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, for almost seven years. Prior to her time at Rutgers, Ruth worked in the Business Advisory Services practice at Grant Thornton, LLP for 18 years on a variety of projects, including numerous operational risk and internal control reviews, forensic investigations, and large system implementations. She also led a team that performed the outsourced internal audit function for Long Island University for seven years.
Ruth earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and she has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
