Associate CIO and Deputy CISO
John was appointed Associate CIO and Deputy CISO in November 2023. In this role, he is responsible for cybersecurity risk management, IT compliance, and security engineering for Yale.
John joined the Yale Information Security office in 2016. He led the launch of Yale’s application security and vulnerability management programs. Under John’s leadership, the team transformed Yale’s security planning assessment and third-party risk management programs. Prior to 2016, John led teams in infrastructure operations and drove multiple transformative IT infrastructure initiatives at the university.
John holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking from Yale and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Kansas.
