Representative duties:
- Operate machinery to clean and process dirty cages
- Fill and sanitize clean cages utilizing autoclave
- Fill water bottles
- Sanitize floors and walls using appropriate equipment
- Complete various records and forms for quality control purposes
- Launder Personal Protective Clothing
- Provide clean supplies and equipment and stock supplies for research animal facilities
- May stock inventory of supplies
- May supply special foods and water
- May provide assistance in performing additional tasks incidental to animal care activities
- Perform additional related tasks as necessary

Required knowledge:
- General knowledge, high school level
- Limited acquaintance with University organizational policies and procedures
Required skills:
- Copies data from standard or easily understandable formats
- Files already labeled material using a straightforward alphabetical, numerical, or chronological system
- Understands non-routine notes, written instructions, and general policy statements
- Writes short informal notes, fills out simple forms
- Regular skilled use of more complex machines
- Performs a few simple laboratory or scientific procedures; records results as necessary
Office and administrative skills:
- Enters and retrieves data from given sources
- Refers callers and visitors to the appropriate individual
Experience, education and formal training:
- Little or no work experience and a high school level education, or an equivalent combination of experience and education

- Job tasks composed of routine steps/processes
