A message from Chief Ronnell A. Higgins
To the Yale Community,
I write to let you know of a series of carjackings occurring on and around campus late this afternoon. Two teenage males brandished a handgun and stole a car from in front of 600 State St.at approximately 3:30 pm. A short while later, another carjacking occurred in front of 9 High Street. That vehicle was last seen traveling on George Street away from the downtown area. The third reported carjacking occurred at 1450 Chapel Street. Subsequently, Hamden Police are reporting two additional carjackings in their town. No injuries have been reported at this time.
