Reminder: Oracle AIX to Linux goes live March 28

As a reminder, ITS is currently working on a project to migrate the Oracle databases YSM1 and MDM1 (aka Meddm1) from AIX to Linux. This change will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

As part of this project, no tables or schemas will change. However, the new database servers are now located in a secure ‘zone’ in the data center, and all access needs explicit permissions to connect. We have monitored production access to both YSM1 and MDM1 since August 2019 and granted the appropriate access.

To prepare for this work, we asked individuals to test applications/interfaces to the two servers to prevent disruptions after the migration completes. Other preparations included developers testing connectivity to the new database servers as well as any Oracle nuances between AIX and Linux.
