Kudos to Absence Management team

Huge thanks to the Absence Management team for continuing to work through integrating the State of Connecticut’s Paid Family and Medical Leave program, which launched in January 2022.

As we stand up this program, there have been significant manual efforts and continued coordination with state administrators. This included many phone calls and emails as we guided the Yale community through this transition. Folding the state’s program into our existing leaves and benefits programs continues to be challenging—full of complexities and many unknowns.

Thank you for your perseverance through this implementation as we continue to jump the hurdles. Keep up the great work!

An extra thank you to others on the front line who answer questions and provide guidance, such as the Employee Service Center, Employee Relations, and Labor Relations. Shout out to Internal Communications, who helped us with communications and the website, and the Organizational Effectiveness and Staff Development team members, who assisted us in designing the training webinars. Lastly, thank you to HR Innovation and Strategic Support for the (almost complete!) configuration design.
