These updates come from Sponsored Projects Financial Administration (“SPFA”).  This “new” procedure replaces former Guide 1301 GD.02 Financial Reporting and Closeout as part of an initiative to eliminate “guide” documents with the intention of clarifying substance that is a requirement or expectation (transitioned to policy and procedure documents) versus substance that is helpful guidance or useful information (transitioned to web pages, FAQs, etc.).

Substantively, this procedure is the same as the former guide.  Any changes are either minor and clarifying in nature or simply the result of transitioning from a “guide” format to a “procedure” document.  This updated procedure is not intended to create any new requirements. 


Always check the Policies & Procedures Website for the latest revisions of all documents.  This will ensure you that are utilizing the most up-to-date version.
