  • Yale ITS will perform scheduled maintenance on the university telephone system (all campuses) from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, through 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, resulting in brief (under one minute) service interruptions.

Details

Yale ITS is committed to providing improved phone reliability and quality service to the Yale community. As part of that effort, the telecommunications team will perform scheduled maintenance to the phone system that provides dial tone to desk phones and call centers referenced below.

Impact

Please expect desk phones and softphones to reset (taking approximately 20-60 seconds) during the maintenance window. Existing calls in progress will not be dropped, and the phone will only reset after any in-progress calls end. Additionally, phones may experience a brief, under one minute, interruption to voicemail functionality.

The following technologies located at the Central, Medical, and West campuses, including Yale Health located at 55 Lock Street, will be affected:

  • Desk phones
  • Softphones (Cisco, Avaya)

Excluded from this work

  • Area of refuge phones
  • Call centers
  • Cortelco phones
  • Elevator phones
  • Fax machines
  • Health, Life, and Safety (blue emergency phones used to contact the Yale Police)
