New vehicle orders

Currently, we are seeing significant delays in the procurement of new vehicles. Manufacturers are still being hampered by shipping and supply delays. Yale Fleet Management is working hard with our dealers to secure new vehicles based on availability. If your department plans to order new vehicles, we recommend making plans as far in advance as possible. Any request for a new vehicle now may only be able to be ordered or received next year. Additionally, our dealers have informed us that there are no guarantees manufacturers will produce your vehicle order - the manufacturer may cancel the order without notice. Please reach out to Yale Fleet to assist you in your vehicle purchases.

Safelite is now a Yale Fleet vendor

Yale Fleet has added Safelite Glass as the preferred vendor for all vehicle glass repairs. Glass repairs not part of an accident are not covered by Yale’s insurance, and the department is responsible for the cost. To submit a request for glass repair, please complete this form.

Managed maintenance

Yale Fleet will pilot a new maintenance program with Holman to help manage our vehicle maintenance. Holman’s extensive network of ASE-certified vendors will provide additional resources to our departments with fleet vehicles. While many of our current vendors are part of their network, Holman will work with these vendors to ensure the best pricing on parts and services. Roadside assistance is offered at a per-use cost through this program which is significantly lower than our current towing provider and WEX Roadside assistance.

New fuel cards

After negotiating new terms with our current vendor, we will replace all Fleet vehicle fuel cards this February. Yale Fleet will contact each department to pick up their new fuel cards. The old fuel cards will need to be returned to Yale Fleet at that time. Please plan your fueling needs accordingly. There will be no change at this time to drivers’ PIN codes.

Accident reporting

Yale requires accidents (including vandalism to vehicles or theft from vehicles) to be reported to Yale’s claims administration company as soon as possible, regardless of how minor these appear. Please refer to Risk Management’s claims reporting web page. Failure to report accidents, vandalism, or theft on a timely basis could result in a denial of the claim or an increase in the deductible charged to the department. Any damage to Yale Fleet vehicles must be repaired. If the repair involves removing the graphics, you must notify Yale Fleet, so the graphics can be reapplied.
