Mass closure of inactive purchase orders

To reduce the volume of obsolete commitments and obligations, Procurement will perform a mass closure of inactive purchase orders (POs) beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Criteria for the mass closure will be:

  • The purchase order invoice status is fully paid; and
  • The purchase order was created on or before March 31, 2022; and
  • The purchase order has had no changes or invoice activity since July 13, 2022. 

If a purchase order service line with infrequent activity is closed and must be reopened, email by June 20, 2023, to reopen the PO. Closed purchase orders cannot be reopened after June 30. For questions regarding the mass PO closure, please contact the Finance Support Center at"> or 203-432-5394.
