New Haven Promise Internships at Yale 2023

The 2023 New Haven Promise Internship season launched on June 1, 2023. This summer, the New Haven Hiring Initiative is happy to host 79 interns within 31 Yale departments. We are thankful for all the departments that have supported an increase from Summer 2022, where we had 50 interns over 23 departments. Interns are already enjoying their experience on campus, and most will follow their department’s hybrid or on-site schedule. Internship opportunities will end for most interns the second week of August, while some will extend through the academic year.

The New Haven Promise Internship experience is offered throughout the New Haven community and helps local employers to build a high-quality, diversified workforce. 33 host organizations in the greater New Haven area have employed 50 interns.

This summer, New Haven Promise interns will experience new career opportunities and participate in seven professional development “lunch & learns” regarding topics such as:

• Growing your Network (including LinkedIn)
• Resume Workshop
• Steppingstones to Your Dream Job
• Financial Stability in Your 20s
• Building Your Brand
• Combating Imposter Syndrome
• Microsoft & Productivity in the Workplace

The New Haven Hiring Initiative team is happy to host two rotational HR interns, Ashlyn Mallard and Kayla Lugo, who will support Diversity and Inclusion programs, HR-IT, Academic Appointee Administration, and YSM Faculty Support. They will also coordinate National Intern Day on July 27, 2023.
