OneFinance: Program leadership announcement

    Our North Star
    To enable Yale’s mission, simplify and standardize financial services in order to make life easier where everyone has a role in building a strong culture of financial integrity, insight, and stewardship of Yale resources. 

    In March 2024, Brian Rebeschi, co-lead for the OneFinance Strategic Initiative, will retire after almost 36 years with the university. We are grateful to Brian for his contributions to the program and for providing us with ample time to make a seamless leadership transition. Upon Brian’s departure, we are pleased to share that Steve Gentile, Senior Director at the Yale School of Medicine, will assume the role of program co-leader. In partnership with Lisa Varni, Steve will ensure the continued success of the OneFinance Strategic Initiative.

    Steve comes to OneFinance with over 31 years of experience at the Yale School of Medicine, including previous leadership roles in the Departments of Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, and Lab Medicine. Steve is currently the senior director of finance and administration for the Child Study Center, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry Integrated Business Operations. Steve is a natural leader and mentor who has focused on the development of future leaders over the past several years and is particularly well suited to step into this key leadership role as Brian steps down in the months ahead.

    We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Brian, who has been integral in planning and stewarding the program since its inception. He has brought to this role his valuable experience, knowledge, and insights acquired throughout his career at Yale. Brian has served in several leadership roles, most recently as Executive Director for the Yale School of Medicine clinical departments. Over the years, Brian has focused his energy on initiatives that drive positive organizational change and has been a driving force behind several initiatives, including the Yale School of Medicine Integrated Business Operations model. Brian is a valued and dedicated colleague who will be deeply missed; however, we wish him a happy and well-deserved retirement after many years of service.

    Over the next few months, Brian and Lisa will continue their partnership as program leaders and will work with Steve to prepare a smooth transition, advance our North Star, and drive our continued progress.
