Extended Leadership Team (ELT) hosts MS Teams training to improve our ways of working

October 31, 2023

As you may know, the ELT comprises leaders within Finance who report to a Finance Senior Leadership Team member. They have been working on the following areas, identified as opportunities to implement some critical aspects of our team’s culture survey:

  1. Learn from and accept constructive feedback.
  2. Take accountability for results (both “what” and “how”).
  3. Engage respectfully in difficult conversations.
  4. Keep things simple and avoid unnecessary processes.

To identify concrete ideas and produce actions, we created four teams, each comprised of six to eight ELT members. Recently, Team #4, with members Chris Watkins, Stephanie Avallone, Lisa Varni, Liz Burnell, Mike DellaBianca, and Tammy Raccio, have created a Microsoft Teams training course tailored to the needs of our organization to help improve how we work. This course will help keep things simple and avoid unnecessary processes. MS Teams is a robust tool, but only some understand how to maximize its features to make their work easier.

On October 19, the team hosted the first session, which 60 staff members attended. If you missed it, you can access the recording here. A second session focusing on some of the more advanced concepts within the platform will take place on Friday, November 3, at noon. An invite has gone out to all finance staff, and we hope to see you there!

Thank you to Chris, Stephanie, Lisa, Liz, Mike, and Tammy for bringing this training opportunity to Finance and ensuring we possess the technical knowledge to do our jobs better!
