Southern Connecticut State University’s (SCSU) 2nd Annual Multicultural Explosion event on Thursday, November 2, created by Yale HRISS’ Denval Lawrence, had a great turnout this year. This year’s theme, “Engage, Empower, Inspire,” encapsulated the very essence of this vibrant celebration of our exceptional multicultural students. HRISS’ Magger Galvan and Nicole Santiago were also part of the event as guest panelists.

The evening commenced with an inspiring awards ceremony, recognizing students who embody the three pillars of the event’s theme: engaging their community, empowering those around them, and inspiring excellence. These remarkable individuals, who have demonstrated tremendous resilience, high academic achievement, a remarkable ability to overcome adversity, and a steadfast commitment to enhancing the Southern CT community, were honored for their outstanding contributions.

To further enrich the evening’s program, a captivating panel discussion took center stage, featuring five exemplary individuals who have not only achieved success in their respective fields but have also consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication to high achievement and a grueling work ethic. These inspiring individuals graciously shared their invaluable insights and a wealth of practical tips, empowering students to unlock their potential, cultivate their talents, and expand their capacity to achieve their dreams.
