Q2 Forecast Process Enhancement - Inclusion in the Finance Data Mart

A new Q2 Forecast enhancement has recently been made available. Effective Monday, December 18, the current year Q2 Forecast data from the Yale Budgeting Tool (YBT) will be loaded into the Finance Data Mart daily, Monday through Friday. This will allow users the flexibility to incorporate Q2 Forecast data into reporting outside of YBT during the Q2 Forecast cycle. Final Q2 Forecast data will be permanently available in the Finance Data Mart after the final submission due date.

Please note the following:

• YBT Q2 Forecast data entered and saved in cloned Labor and Financial plans as of 7 p.m. daily Sunday through Thursday nights will be available in the Data Mart at 8 a.m. the next day. Data entered and saved after 7 p.m. will be included in the next night’s load to the Data Mart.
• If the Labor and Financial plans have not been cloned, the Q2 Forecast data in the Finance Data Mart will be the Actuals for the closed months of July-November.
• The Finance Data Mart is loaded once over the recess on December 28. YBT Q2 Forecast data loaded will be as of 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27. The nightly updates will resume on January 1, 2024.

The Q2 Forecast load into the Finance Data Mart will directly affect three interactive reports and two Finance Data Model fields. The affected reports and fields are:

Interactive Reports:

• Budget Compare and Project
• Budget Variance Analysis
• Labor Plan and FTE Analysis

Finance Data Model:

• Q2 Forecast Current FY CR Minus DR Amt
• Q2 Forecast Current FY DR Minus CR Amt
