Interest accounting change on Account Holder Reports

In January 2024, a correction was made to the ledger account mapping that directly impacts sponsored award interest on Account Holder Reports. In Workday and on AHRs, interest historically was displayed on the general ledger as a revenue category (41003), which appeared as a contra-expense listed under the “Interest Income” budget line. In January 2023, a correction was made in Workday where this revenue category would not be pulled as a contra-expense but as revenue which would not appear on a sponsored fund when running expense-based reports. The supplemental correction was necessary to be completed for the information in our Finance Data Mart to match Workday.

Grant budgets should be entered with the interest amount added to the grant budget category SP81 Interest for those affected.
