Details

Custodians play a critical role in ensuring remuneration is provided to human research study participants, creating and clearing spend authorizations and managing and safeguarding funds. To better equip custodians to fulfill this vital role, the Financial Review Enhancement project team, in collaboration with the Finance Training and Development team, has developed a new self-directed training module, Human Research Study Participant Remuneration – Custodian Training. This training, available in Workday Learning, will equip Principal Investigators and custodians with the foundational knowledge needed to successfully fulfill their roles as defined in the updated 3417 PR.01 Human Research Study Participant Remuneration Process.

As part of the OneFinance Strategic Initiative, this training was developed to simplify and standardize the way custodians are trained to ensure all custodians understand their role in building our culture of financial integrity and proper stewardship of Yale resources.

Who Is This Training For?

This training is strongly recommended for Principal Investigators and custodians with research studies that provide remuneration and/or reimbursement to human research study participants.  The training is also recommended for Business Office or other staff who have a role in processing or approving transactions related to this process.
