Coming Soon: Enhanced Payroll Dashboard Interactive Report

    Beginning on Thursday, April 4, an updated version of the Payroll Dashboard interactive report will be available on the Power BI Report Server to support the review of payroll expenses. This updated report has been rebranded to Payroll Dashboard (formerly Payroll Comparison) and contains new features and enhancements including the addition of two new tabs to assist with payroll review.

    This dashboard report consolidates various aspects of payroll review to save time and streamline analyses. The enhancements to this report include:

    • A Home tab that has been added for users to easily navigate to the various tabs, user-guide, and helpful report information.
    • New features and slicer options were added including a slicer on Fund, a slicer for Employee Active, and the ability to view payroll results by Employee and COA for selected periods.
    • The new Overtime & Extra Compensation tab contains default filters on a population of Earning Codes allowing users to gain insight into Overtime and Extra Compensation payments to employees.
    • The new Payroll Budget to Actuals tab enables users to review Payroll Actuals compared to Budget, Forecast, Commitment, and Obligation amounts by Employee and COA.

    Departments are required to review and verify the accuracy of payroll expenses monthly as part of the Financial Review Checklist (FRC). As a recommended report on the FRC, Departments can use the Payroll Dashboard interactive report for their FRC requirement. An updated user-guide for the Payroll Dashboard Interactive Report will be accessible from the lightbulb icon on the Home tab within the report.     The Financial Reporting Analytics and Financial Compliance teams completed the Payroll Dashboard enhancements in collaboration with distributed report users from the departments to which they extend their appreciation for their valuable feedback.
